Steve Crichlow

Founder & CEO

Steve has over 45 years of restaurant owner/operator experience including being a multi-unit franchisee at Burger King, Popeye’s, Sonic Drive-In and most recently CiCi’s Pizza. Accordingly, providing Steve with a deep and broad knowledge of the restaurant industry and a thorough understanding of the franchisee/franchisor relationship. He is a long-time member of the National Restaurant Association as well as the F.C.S.I.

Prior to starting Compass RCR in 2007, Steve had a history of being innovative and effective in all his business encounters.

  • Turning around underperforming markets. In the early stages of his career he demonstrated a superior skill at improving sales and profits and recruiting/building teams. As his experience grew, he was able to translate that into markets and regions.
  • Involvement in the development of several key operating systems within the industry; most notably::

  • In the 70’s Steve was instrumental in designing the Drive-Thru procedures used within the Burger King system.
  • In the 80’s he was a major contributor to developing a new scheduling system in the industry improving efficiency and reducing labor costs.
  • In the mid-90’s he was a major contributor to the development of the ServSafe program.
  • During the 2000’s he assisted in the improvement of the Drive-Thru system while at Sonic Drive-In.
  • Most recently at CiCi’s Pizza he was involved in the redesigning of several customer impact positions throughout the brand.
  • Throughout Steve’s career, he has been involved with writing/upgrading Operations, New Store Opening and Training manuals.
